![]() ![]() William Damon was an active member of the gay communities of Philadelphia, Pa. ![]() The Archives contains named collections donated by local individuals and organizations periodicals (magazines, journals, newspapers and newsletters) from the 1940s to the present ephemera and newspaper clippings textiles and artifacts (from political buttons and matchbooks to t-shirts and leather chaps) rare books and pulp fiction novels posters, calendars, art works, and travel guides and audio-visual material, comprised of a wide variety of media types. Additionally, the collections illuminate the area's homophile and early LGBT rights movements. The Wilcox Archives documents LGBT history, generally, and the LGBT history of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley, specifically. Collections are not physically accessible to researchers at this time, but we are available virtually and happy to work with you on your research! The Archives collections have been moved off site while our building undergoes renovations.
